Enjoy and relax in surroundings steeped in history.
The romantic town of Klausen has been captivating travelers for centuries. Vogelweide as a witness of history and as a cultural meeting point. Heart of South Tyrol. Ideal transport connections in summer and winter. Gate to Val Gardena. Ideal for active, culturally interested and pleasure holidays.
Flowers in the Eisack Valley. Winter has to give up early in Klausen. Flowers sprout, nature awakens. Ideal temperatures to discover the South Tyrolean cycle path. The Säben monastery on the local mountain also offers other perspectives.
The bike season in South Tyrol starts early in spring.
The hiking season has started. All of South Tyrol is at the hiker's feet. From the Three Peaks in Alta Pusteria to Graun in Vinschgau. High-altitude tours to simple hikes and those who love alpine pastures can be in the Villanderer Alm or the Seiseralm in no time. Then to cool off in the Klausen swimming pool.
The power of the leaves and plants is now transferred to the fruits. A blaze of colors and pleasant temperatures characterize the Eisack Valley autumn. Hike on the "Kastanienweg" (Chestnut hiking path) that leads directly through Chiusa and stop in one of the rustic Törggele parlors. You will taste the new wine and typical South Tyrolean hospitality.
Ski packed! If you are looking for variety, Chiusa is the starting point for a number of ski areas in the vicinity. Val Gardena, Plose, Gitschberg-Jochtal to name just a few. Those who want to take it easy will get their money's worth at the Villanderer Alm. Tobogganing, cross-country skiing, winter hiking and enjoyment in a magnificent winter landscape.
Chiusa offers a lot more. Events take place throughout the year with something for everyone. At the medieval Christmas market you can be transported to another time. The "Gasseltörggelen" is toasted and celebrated, and Chiusa is not called the Törggele capital for no reason. Many wine events bring you closer to local and South Tyrolean wine.
